My 5 Favorite Hair Products
Hey Chica! It's another gloomy and rainy day here in the 'A' today. This is the kind of weather where you just want to cuddle up on your couch with your dog and wear sweatpants am I right? Anyway, I thought this would be the perfect time to share with you some things that bring happiness and sunshine to my life. Freaking amazing hair products! I'm not talking about hair extensions this time, I'm talking about products I use on my hair daily. If you're anything like me, than half the time you feel like you are a chicken with your head cut off. I know I need all the help I can get to cut down on my day to day "let's try and look normal" routine so I have found each of these products to help me achieve this goal. ESPECIALLY the last product. Even better, you can order all of these on amazon and have them delivered to your house in 2 days or less. Who doesn't love amazon? So I am going to break down each product for you and how I use them.
Label M
I was first introduced to this brand from my hairstylist Jessica Goldstein at her salon one day while getting my hair done. She actually recommended these products to me and ever since I started using them I have been hooked. They also smell REALLY good!
Diamond Dust Leave In Crème: After I get out of the shower and have towel dried my hair, I spray this at the end of my hair and comb through so it is evenly distributed throughout my hair. This is really important for people who's hair gets dry easily and for me is extremely helpful because it helps my hair extensions to remain soft as well. I use this on my hair with and without extensions and I especially find it useful in the summer months when I am out in the sun a lot and by the pool.
Texturizing Volume Spray: Once I am finished blow drying my hair, I spray this at my roots and tease with my fingers to help give my hair height and volume and also adds edgy texture throughout my hair. This is a MUST have!
Big Sexy Hair
I have been a HUGE fan of these products for years. I first saw this line at the grocery store one time and I was immediately drawn to it's name. It does exactly what it's name says, it keeps my hair BIG and SEXY! Clearly I have been a cheerleader for too many years of my life. haha!
Powder Play: This product is really cool and has a different consistency than most. It's literally a powder that you sprinkle in your hand, fingers or even directly into the hair and work it in. In fact...when I used to coach competitive cheerleading, my cheerleaders would always use this for competition before they would tease their hair because it was the only product that could get their hair REALLY big without making it clumpy with gel and hairspray. It was funny because we all came up with the nickname "Hair Crack" because your hair would just wake right up I guess? HAHA! Another funny story related to this product, my photographer saw me using some of it the day we shot the pictures in this post and she went that very day and bought some for herself. She carries it in her purse now... Haha!
Spray and Play: it's exactly what it sounds like. Once you are done styling your hair, you spray some of this to give your hair a nice flexible hold. Sometimes hairspray can be a little scary especially if you're wearing your hair down but this one won't make your hair crunchy or stiff at all.
and last but definitely not least....my very favorite hair product of ALL time. The mother of all hair products...
Dry Shampoo: my lifesaver. Just in case you didn't know, I am the oiliest human being alive I feel like. Total Grease ball status. At this point I feel like a dry shampoo connoisseur. I have tried them ALL. There are a lot of amazing brands out there but Big Sexy Hair seems to work the best for me. I will explain why. Sometimes when using dry shampoo, you have to be careful because it can tend to make your hair look almost gray if you use too much. ESPECIALLY on people with dark hair. There are brands out there that also will make Dry Shampoo specifically for people with dark hair but before you know it, your hands get black crap all over them and so does everything else your hair comes into contact with. Dry Bar actually makes a really great dry shampoo that smells fantastic and works great, it just shows up extremely gray on my particular hair color. So as of right now, Big Sexy Hair's dry shampoo is the winner for me! I can go a couple of days without washing my hair and look somewhat presentable.
I hope you found this to be helpful and as always, comment below with your thoughts or any questions you may have!
